"What We Took To The Beach"
Everyone designed their swimsuit, object & hair on a precut body that I gave them. (They loved that!).  We then brainstormed what they would take to the beach.  They had to make what they would take to the beach & hold it in their hand.  They also had to write a sentence underneath their person stating what they took to the beach.  This is cute!
Up Close Pictures & Our Chart
She says, "The raft is cool."
He says, "The goggles are cool."
Tissue Paper Fish
Hanging Rainbow Fish- We read the story Rainbow Fish then made these 3-D fish with different colored scales and a piece of aluminum foil for the "shiny" scale.  I then hung them from the ceiling.  These fish are stuffed with newspaper to get the 3-D look.
Scuba Masks - We made our own Scuba Masks.  Laminate the goggles to simulate the plexiglass.  The kids love these.

My Kids love the program "Freddi Fish".  Out of all the software out there, that program seems to be their favorite.  Therefore, I highly recommend this for your Kindergarten class.  I got mine from my Scholastic Software Club.  You can order it off of Amazon.com, too.

Sink or Float Activity.  From the Resource Book - Lasting Lessons "Tails From The Sea"
I have several Teacher Resource Books on Tangrams.  I went to my local teacher store & found Tangram books that have a lot of pictures of different types of things for kids to lay their tangram pieces down so that I could use them with different units as well.  I copy & laminate them & put them at my math center for whatever unit I'm on.  For example, here I have a seahorse & a fish.  I also have a boat and a shark, too.
Here are a group of kids demonstrating the Sink/Float Activity.
My students read/listen to The Magic School Bus On The Ocean Floor by Joanna Cole..

Ocean/Fish Fingerplays & Songs

DID YOU EVER SEE A FISHY?
(Tune:  "Did You Ever See A Lassie?")

Did you ever see a fishy,
A fishy, a fishy?
Did you ever see a fishy
Swim this way and that?
Swim this way and that way
And that way and this way?
Did you ever see a fishy
Swim this way and that?

*  Repeat the song replacing "swim" with other verbs such as:  slide, swish, splash.

The first fish said, "This pool is cool!" (Shiver & hug yourself)
The second fish said, "This pool is deep." (Use a low voice)
The third fish said, "I want to sleep." (Yawn & stretch)
The fourth fish said, "I spy a ship." (hand shadowing eyes)

A SAILOR WENT TO SEA

A sailor went to sea, sea, sea.  To see what he could see, see, see.  But all that he could see, see, see.  Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea.  (Whenenver we sing "sea or see" we bring our hand to our forefead like a salute.  We sing it three times, each time a little bit faster.  On the 4th time, we sing all of the words except for "sea or see".  When we get to these words we zip our lips but still do the salute.
