Countdown to Christmas   Add a cottonball everyday to Santa's Beard until Christmas.  I attach the poem below to it.
Hands & Feet Angels  I take a picture of my students with a digital camera.  I print them out & cut around their head.  Then we paint their foot with white paint.  Wash. Then dip their hands in gold paint.  I add a halo for the head.  See Bulletin Board below.
Hands & Feet Reindeer - Students trace their foot on brown construction paper and cut out.  Next, they trace their hands & cut out.  Girls like to add a bow.  Add eyes, nose & glitter.  We hang these in our window.
Panty Hose Reindeer  Stretch a pair of nylons over a hanger.  Glue on eyes, nose, holly and antlers.
Shoe Poem

Here is my little shoe,
I made it just for you.
When I'm grown & tall,
You can remember me small.
In your footsteps I want to grow,
Thank you mom and Dad for loving me so!
Parents Christmas Gifts

Ask your parents to send in an old shoe of your childs.  Make sure the shoes are tied.  Put the shoe on wax paper & have students paint the shoe with GLUE.  Let dry overnight & repeat the next day.  Let dry & spraypaint gold or bronze.  I laminated the poem onto cardboard & hotglued the shoe onto it.  My parents LOVED them.
Hands & Feet Wreath Flags - You will need white butcher paper about 3 or 4 feet per child.  Dip hands & feet as shown.  After it is dry fold over the back & tape onto a dowel rod.  Add ribbon to hang.
This is a brick that is painted white.
Stockings:  These are Mrs. Fox' stockings hung up on her bulletin board.  (See Bulletin Board Section below).
Reindeer Ornaments - This is from the Box & Bag It Math Book for Kindergarten.
Gumball Ornaments - Take gumballs and add toothpicks in them.  Stick them in a styrofoam ball until you cannot see the white of the styrofoam.  Add & ribbon & hang.
Panty Hose Santa - You may use panty hose or pink tissue paper to cover a hanger.  Construction paper for the rest.
Rudolph Sandwiches - From the Box N Bag It Math Book.  This is a great "follow directions" activity for the students.  Take a square piece of wheat bread and cut it into 2 triangles.  Add peanut butter to one of the triangles.  Lay the other triangle on top.  Add pretzels for antlers.  Add marcino cherry for nose (it's stuck on their with peanut butter) and blue m & m for eyes (you may use raisins, too).  Eat them all up!
Christmas Songs & Fingerplays
Our December Quilt

Students painted their hands as Santa's as shown.  Then they made an AB pattern from the Ellison die cut squares & glued it down on their quilt square.
Dear Old Santa Claus
(Tune:  Brother Abraham)

Dear  Old Santa Claus,
had many elves,
Many elves had dear old Santa Claus,
and they always laughed,
and they always joked,
and they always went like this . . .
right arm,

(Continue in the same way repeating the same verse only continue to add Left arm, right leg, left leg, nod your head, turn around & sit down)

Where is Santa
(Tune:  Where is Thumbkin?)

Where is Santa, Where is Santa (Both hands should be behind back)
Here I am, Here I am (One arm at a time out in front as if making a big belly)
Merry, Merry Christmas, Merry Merry Christmas (Say this in a Santa Voice with hands still in front imitating a big belly)
Ho, Ho, Ho; Ho, Ho, Ho.    (Put arm behind back one at a time)
Reindeer Pokey
(Tune:   Hokey Pokey)

You put your antlers in.  You put your antlers out,
You put your antlers in and you shake them all about.
You do the Reindeer Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your hooves in . . .
You put your red nose in . .. . .
You put your fluffy tail in  . . . . .
You put your reindeer body in . . . .
S-A-N-T-A
(Tune:  Old McDonald)

Who laughs this way, HO HO HO, S-A-N-T-A,
Who drives the sleigh through sleet and snow, S-A-N-T-A,
His hair is white,
His suit is red,
He wears a hat to cover his head.
Who brings fun for girls and boys, S-A-N-T-A.

Gifts For Parents
Materials:  Adult T-Shirt, Gold Tempra Pain, Gold & Blue Paint (Slicks-Any kind where you can write on clothing), Blue Tempra Paint, sponge, Blank Iron On Transfers, Digital Camera & Printer.

Take children's pictures with digital camera.  I put my kids' pictures in Power Point so that I can make them any size I want.  Take the Iron On Transfer paper & put it in the printer  It will print kids' pictures right on transfer.
Next, paint child's foot & stamp on shirt.  Then paint child's hands gold & stamp on shirt.  (I usually get a helper to do this with me & put a movie in for the kids).  Write everything on the shirt.  I used a sponge & made a cloud out of blue to write the kids name & year on it.
When it is all dry, get an iron & iron on the transfer of kids picture.
The Parents loved them!  I think some of the kids even wore them as night shirts even though they were made for the parents.
Gold Noodle Ornament Wreath - I took the kids' Pictures and laminated them on a poster board circle.  Students then glued macaroni all around the picture.  I put something over the picture so I wouldn't spay paint the picture & then spray painted it all gold.  We added a red bow (you can get these at Wal-mart 10 in a package for .97 cents & it even has the loop to be able to hand on tree.)  I personalized the back with name & year
