Pig Game
You need 2 dice, a friend, (Or you can do it on a overhead projector with the whole class, Or, on the carpet with everyone in a big circe), and piece of paper and a pencil.

You roll the dice and add up what say say.  The idea is to get to 30 (You can make it whatever number you want).  You don't have to take turns.  You keep rollinga s long as you want.  BUT:

If a 1 comes up on  one dice, you lose your count for that turn. (Even if you were at 29!) and anytime you throw a 1, you lose your turn.

It helps a lot to know how to add.  This would be a great activity for calculators.  For Kindergarten children it's better to do as a whole class.  For older children they can do it on their own.

It helps if you can predict how often 1's come up.  What is the probability of throwing a 1?  What is the probability of throwing snake eyes (two 1's)?

What is a lucky streak?  Do you know one when you have it?

Winner is determined by the first person to reach 30.  (using tallies really helps)  GOOD LUCK!
